Officers responded about 10 p.m. Friday to a residence in the city’s west side, where they found the older boy suffering from a pair of knife wounds to his back and a major forearm laceration, San Antonio’s WOAI-TV reported.
According to police, the boy had been arguing over a blanket with his 9-year-old brother when the situation escalated, the news station said. The younger boy then grabbed a large kitchen knife and attacked his brother, who was hospitalized.
The 9-year-old is just shy of criminal-charge age and will instead undergo a mental evaluation, police told WOAI.
